By now, Captain America Civil War has been out for a week. I was lucky enough to be invited to the screening, a few days before it was released to the public. I never feel the need to go into plot details because if you’re a fan of the Marvel franchise, you already know the premise of the movie.
The short of it: Captain America vs. Iron Man because they don’t see eye-to-eye on something big.
But, here is the official story synopsis, in case you wanted to know: Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability. Get ready to pick a side and join the nonstop action playing out on two fronts when Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” opens in U.S. theaters.
There ya go, that’s the crux of it.
But, lemme tell you…this movie was AWESOME!! I figure, if I’m not missing my phone then it’s keeping me entertained. I didn’t care if a single kid of mine was texting me, they would have had to wait a long time for a response. I didn’t take my eyes off the screen for pretty much the entire 2 hours and 30 minutes!
I don’t know that there was anything too terribly scary that would upset the younger kids. It was all action, all the time. So, maybe for kids that don’t do well with excitement, then wait for it to be on cable.
I was ready to be #teamIronMan but I switched over to #teamCaptainAmerica midway through the film.
Anyway, if you haven’t seen Captain American Civil War, I highly recommend you do so. Immediately. And see it in 3D because it’s GOOD STUFF!!
