It’s my mother and wifely duty to clean the house, cook the meals, schlep the kids, take care of needs and wants.
I’m not saying I begrudge any of it.
I’m simply stating it’s exhausting to be a “Duty Do-er”.
Sometimes, I feel like taking my unfolded, unwashed, old clothing and tossing them into a suitcase.
Then, I’d head to the airport where I’d buy a one-way ticket to anywhere cheap (Because duty-doer is not very high-paying) and warm.
And, I’d just go.
Guaranteed, texts would come in.
“Urgent matters, come home, we need you.”
Mom, reporting back to duty.
we duty doers need to stick together. Run while you can. 🙂
I’m not a mom yet, but I salute them for what they do! Goodness knows what they go through to bring us up and care for us.
