I’m, once again, participating in the 100 word challenge brought to you by Tara at the Thin Spiral Notebook. This weeks word: Ideas
+++++++++++++++++
Way too often, I’m am struck by mind-blowing silence.
Oh, my muse is a funny creature. Leaving me suffering alone while she’s off on some crazy adventure.
Then BAM.
She’s back.
Or, quite possibly, my muse is a he.
I don’t know.
I don’t even know its name.
Yet, we are life partners, my muse and I.
Except, I think I’m the only one in this “partnership” that’s burdened.
But, when my muse returns from weeks or months off,
it’s usually with way more ideas than my brain can even handle.
Which, of course, leaves me struck with mind-deafening noise.
You captured that perfectly. The muse can’t be summoned. He/she makes his/her appearance sometimes when you least expect it.

I wish my Muse was on a leash and was able to be summoned and controlled at will. But, as you have so correctly stated, that it not the case. Thanks for a post that every writer can appreciate and relate to. 🙂
Nice to see you here. And I think, perhaps, your Muse and my Muse get lost together from time to time. Send mine home when you get a chance, please?
They’re probably hanging out on a beach, sipping pina coladas and laughing at us. The jerks.
Genius take
Aw, thank you!
Sounds like your “partner” likes to pl;ay hide and seek – a very creative response!
thank you! Yeah, hide and seek is its all-time favorite game. I’m always the seeker. Sigh.
Yeah, I got that muse thing too. Very nicely done.

I love the final image. It truly can be deafening, can’t it? Beautiful, and sometimes terrifying, and really, really loud.
Excellent hundred word idea!
I don’t know which is worse, the silence or the uproar!?
