I love superhero movies. I’m a huge Thor fan. And I’d be remiss not to give a big nod in Superman’s direction.
When I say ‘superhero’ movies, I totally mean Marvel, though.
So, let’s talk about the new flick in theaters today…Guardians of the Galaxy.
This one was the best in show. Guardians of the Galaxy does not disappoint. Not in the least. It was full of fun, action, funny…you name it, it was there, all wrapped up tightly in an excellent storyline with a perfectly cast band of characters.
I think this movie is fine for kids 10 and up. Personally, however, I would have taken my kids to see it even younger than 10 because there isn’t anything too scary or too sexual in nature. Also, the language isn’t all that inappropriate. But, you know your kid and how much stimulation they can handle.
We saw the screening in 3-D. I don’t think it’s a must to see this in 3D unless that’s your favorite way to watch a movie. Then again, I don’t have anything to base my comparison on because, like I said…I saw it in 3D. I did duck a few times. What? I got into the movie!

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
Last note: If I had a rating system of some sort, I would give Guardians of the Galaxy the highest possible rating. Because it was one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time.
Go. See it!
