And 10 years later, that’s how it still is. We walk together on this journey.
It hasn’t been easy, but these types of things never are.
There have been so many obstacles for both of us, as individuals and as a couple.
Somehow, we always manage to overcome them.
I’ve realized how closely love and hate are intertwined with intricate knots. Without one, there can not be the other.
I’ve realized what it is to be lucky, truly lucky.
I’ve realized what it is like to not be judged, to be loved no matter what size I am, what new hobby I spend a fortune on, what comes out of my mouth.
I’ve realized that men and women can be best friends.
I never believed in fairytales but I do believe in happy-ever-afters. And happy isn’t always 100% of the time. It takes work and determination.
Today, we celebrate a 10 year journey of realizations and look forward to a lifetime of many more.
To my husband, you know I’m not the mushy, sentimental, romantic type. So, with that in mind…
Thank you for responding to my Jdate email all those years ago.
Thank you for being my best friend.
I love you.
Me (your favorite, bestest wife in the whole world)
