I’m doing the Leap Around The Blogosphere blog hop today, I found it over on my friend Jessica’s blog. Here’s the linky Leap Around The Blogosphere Hey, it’s leap year, it makes sense!
My childhood nickname was Missy. Or Messy Missy. Or Pissy Missy. Or Miffy. Or Mel. It depended on who was talking to me and what type of mood they were in when doing so.
If you want to spoil me rotten, buy me tickets to see Duran Duran. In Europe. For a month. With my friends.
The television character I most identify with is Alice from Brady Bunch. If you know me, you’ll know I have 5 kids. And a husband. And so…yeah. I cook. I clean. I work my finger to the bone. I just don’t date a butcher. My husband wouldn’t like that too much.
If I had a whole day to go shopping and money to spend, I would go to lunch with a few girlfriends and my sister. We’d get manis/pedis. Then, we’d hit the mall. Also, I’d probably order some furniture. And carpet. And maybe a new car. Yes, DEFINITELY a new car. And carpet.
The most wild and crazy thing I have ever done (that I can admit to publicly) would be…um…hmmm…OMG. I’M SO BORING.
The one thing on my bucket list that I am most eager to do travel. I want to tour Italy. REALLY tour Italy. And the South of France. I want to taste the European gelato again. In fact, I want to eat and drink my way through Europe. But first, I need to get REALLY skinny so that when I’m done with this eat and drink-fest, I’ll be a normal weight.
My family will always be loyal to each other.
If I could spend a day with a celebrity I would choose…do I have to answer this? Honestly, a childhood dream that has gone on forEVER is…I’d like to meet my boys. Duran Duran. Just to hang out with them. And stare. We don’t even have to talk. I probably wouldn’t be able to. But quite honestly, them. Duran Duran. I know, I’m ridiculous.
In my opinion, the best invention in the history of the world is…wow, I don’t know. There are so many inventions out there that have made such a tremendous difference that I wouldn’t know how to choose just one.
When life hands me lemons, I juggle them. I roll with the punches. OK, I panic a bit first but then I have a semi-clear vision of what to do and I go for it. Sometimes it’s important to be handed lemons, they make you realize just how strong you really are.
Now itโs your turn. Ready? Go!
I think I like your “shopping day” better than the one I picked. I would definitely love mani/pedis with gf’s and then a new car – definitely, a new car! ๐

Love these, Melissa. One day you are destined to finally meet Duran Duran. I mean, is there a bigger fan anywhere? Seriously!

I have to say your answer to #10 was the BEST and is a great rule to live by.

Oh come on – you can think of ONE crazy thing you’ve done?? ๐
Last year I swore I’d go to Southern France and make it happen, in a way or another. I did have to sell everything I owned, and move out of the country, but I’m so going in a few weeks. And I don’t care that I don’t look perfect… I’ll still eat my way around. In fact I think I will WALK so much while touring that magically I will not gain an ounce. I hope you will be able to meet Duran Duran, if not.. start making plans for that trip to Europe, because life is meant to be lived now!!

I LOVE Duran Duran (though admittedly I am not as big a fan as you…)! I had an ongoing love affair with Simon AND Nick when they visited me in my Tiger Beat magazine. Do people who stalk you on your blog count as “friends,” because I would LOVE to be a part of THAT shopping day! ;o)
