Guess What, I Have An Anniversary Here, Too!

I’m reading all these posts talking about blogoversaries and celebrating 100th blog posts and I had this sudden realization that Rock and Drool just hit its 3 year anniversary mark. On May 2, 2008, after having shut down Such Simple Pleasures a couple months prior, I reopened under Rock and Drool. I missed blogging back then, going two months without was like quitting smoking, the withdrawal was AWFUL.

Funny how things change.

I feel sorry for my blog. Poor thing, it has become so neglected by me. I don’t treat it properly. It’s underfed and showing signs of malnourishment.

I’m a bad bloggy Mommy. BAD. BAD. Mommy.

So much has happened in the 3 years of R&D (4 years of blogging, though). I went from finding something interesting (well, to me anyway) to blog about every single day to barely blogging at all.

When I started blogging, I was an actual Mommy Blogger. I wrote about my life as a mom, step mom, wife, pet owner, home owner, etc.

Eventually, it got really boring. But as you know, writing short stories became such a passion. Instead of looking at my life and wondering how I can blog about it, I started picking out people and things that would make for good short stories. It’s way more interesting that way.

I love blogging but it’s become so much more to me than sharing my life here. It’s opened doors, opportunities, friendships that would never have been possible.

Despite my slacking, doors are still opening. Slightly. Friendships are still being made, wonderfully.

So, my darling blog. For the friendships first and other stuff 2nd, I thank you.

Happy 2nd Anniversary, Rock and Drool. And a big thank you to all of my friends, old and new, who come here to hang out with me. Even when there is nothing going on.
