I’m not one to buy myself expensive gadgets. No, really! I don’t have a problem spending money on clothes or things for my children.
But…
I’ve been dying for an iPad. It’s nothing I really ever needed. After all, I have my laptop and my iPhone, not to mention other little electronic gizmos that I’ve accumulated throughout the years. For some strange reason, the iPad has been making me drool in a way that some women salivate over bling. That’s all fine and good, the shiny stuff. It’s not exactly what gets me going though.
So…
I decided to take my birthday money, my Mad Mimi affiliate money and some text ad money and splurge on myself.
I called a ton of Apple retailers and found the best price to be with Fatima over at Verizon Wireless in Farmington Hills. I did not want the fancy 2, I have no reason for it. I opted for first gen, 32 gigs with wifi. It’s all I needed.
And…
I bought it. I love it. I installed blogging apps, writing apps, social media apps and of course, Angry Birds and Bejewelled.
My children are forbidden from touching it. So is my husband. Violators will be executed on site.
The point of this post? There isn’t one. I’m just testing out the blogability. Which…not awful. I’m not having a hard time at all, surprisingly. Although, I may need to invest in a keyboard for writing.
All in all, this is better than a pair of diamond hoops any day. Well, ok, I may have to invest in a pair for my next birthday.
Tell me, oh wise iPad using friends, which apps are necessary to writing, blogging and addictive games?
So cool. I’ve been thinking about getting one for general use. My kids love my phone, but I’m not sure of the durability. I’ve heard that there are some really great learning apps for kids.

Good for you! Pamper yourself… you deserve it.
I can’t help you with the iPad apps either. Our son has one, but unless your into driving games, I can’t tell you much.

Pages is a great app for writing. Evernote keeps all your thoughts organized and though I hate to say it Mobile Me has been the best thing I have ever done. It shouldn’t cost money but it does, though there is some gossip that it might not in the future.
If you haven’t played Plants vs Zombies you still have all kinds of time on your hands which will be gone if you download it. Awesomely fun game.

I’m still in the 20th century. No iPad. No iPhone. If I can’t get it free with a 2-year contract, I don’t bother.
