I decided that every Monday I’m going to write about my progress in my Commitment to habit.
Last week I decided that I’m going to force myself into a work-out habit. Today was day 8. Yes, I’ve been really good and am quite proud of myself.
I have been working out for 45 minutes to an hour a day using the free On-Demand exercise videos. Also, I bought myself two DVD’s, both are ballet/pilates infusion.
Get this…
Since last Monday, I’ve lost 5 POUNDS!! How crazy is that?! I know that isn’t going to be the norm, I’ve lived a yo-yo life enough to realize that the first few weeks, the weight comes off the fastest. I also know that the first 10 pounds is water weight.
But still!!
In the 8 days of my Commitment to Habit, I can’t even tell you how much better I feel. I love the aches and pains of working out. I love how I have just *thatmuch* more energy already.
I forgot how much self confidence you can get back, just by working out.
Yay me!!
I have a bunch of weight to lose and a bunch of body to firm up and I’m going to do it. My plan is to be down 30 pounds by August, in time for Blogher.
I’m thinking about a Commitment to Habit meme linky poo thing, what do you think? Anyone interested in joining me in making that commitment?

Also, I don’t know if you’ve heard but, I’m writing a sex/relationship/intimacy column called Sex Per Se,over on The Urbane Life. We’ve started an advice column called Dear Melissa. I know, right?! Joining you on the exercise regime. I need a daily kick in the ass, and this is just the thing… others to commiserate with. Found a workout called the 550 ( 11 exercises with 50 reps each, all use your body weight, full workout)- so on days I’m not at gym- will do that and walk/jog 30-40 daily. Figure any idiot can do that, right?

I’m very proud of you!! 30 pounds by August is totally doable! Don’t forget the FB group I started (you’re already in it)! i’m there if you need an extra push of support!! Make yourself known there and start posting! I but it will inspire others that are sitting and watching rather than doing!
