It’s Thanksgiving. Again. Wow did it come fast this year, didn’t it? Before we know it we’re going to be bringing in the New Year. Again.
I know that I don’t always appear to be the happiest, most thankful person on the planet here on my blog. Trust me though, many of my friends who have met me in real life know that I am a pretty happy, bubbly person.
I have much to be thankful for. I really do.
I’m thankful for my children. Despite my profuse complaining about their spoiled, ungrateful ways, I love them more than anyone on this planet. They just happen to give me tons of blog fodder. I’m proud of the wonderful, sweet people they are turning into.
I’m thankful for my husband. He puts up with all my blog stuff. He good-naturedly takes the brunt of some negative blog posts. Because he knows that I need my outlet, although he isn’t really fond of the fact that thousands of people worldwide know about some intimate details. He can be a real douche-canoe sometimes (a lot of times) but I love him.
I’m thankful that, after all the health issues my mom had last year, she is still here and driving everyone nuts. Which, I’m really glad about because I can still call her a bazillion times a day and drive her as nuts as she drives me. Yay.
I’m thankful for my sister. I don’t even know where to start on that one. We are completely polar opposites yet I don’t know many sisters who are as close as we are.
I’m thankful that my daddy is healthy and still as bossy as ever, still trying to get me to make lists and organize my life. It hasn’t worked yet, Daddy but you can keep trying. Mwah.
I’m thankful for my friends I have that I’ve met through real life. They’ve stuck by me through so many different life events. I know that, no matter what, they have my back. I hope they know that I have theirs.
Lastly, I’m SO thankful for my friends that I’ve met through this crazy blogging thing. You’re a huge part of my life. You know me as well, if not better, than some of the people I see on a regular basis. And for some reason, you keep coming back to know more. What’s up with that?
As for things…my house, my car, my antiques, my stuff…they are just things. While some are necessities for daily life and some are pretty to look at, they are still just things. Replaceable. Disposable. Sellable. Yes, I’m glad to have them (although, I REALLY would like a new car but with today being Thanksgiving and all, lets just pretend I’m grateful for that piece of shit, ok?!). They make life a little more comfortable.
But without all my people and my whole family? I’d be lost.
Just know that, even if it wasn’t Thanksgiving and I didn’t feel like I had to do this obligatory post, I’m ALWAYS thankful for you.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.
Enjoy your tryptophan comas while farting on the couch in front of a boring football game. (We’ll be sure to let you know that they do not, indeed, smell like roses)
I LOVE YOU.
XOXO
Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the pie!
