Today we received a long email from AT&T Customer Service which confirmed recent changes made to our wireless account. It was comprehensive and informative. Hey…thanks AT&T. I mean, I TOTALLY know that it was a bulk email and they send the same one to their AT&T family. We’re just big and happy, dontchya know. But still, it was like it was written just for me.
I mean…just read this excerpt…

And thanks again for choosing AT&T.
Sincerely,
AT&T
If that’s not caring, I beg you to tell me what is. Sigh.
I’d like to take a moment to respond…
Dear AT&T,
Thanks so much for the lovely email. So very kind. Warm fuzzies, I tell ya.
I’m sure you learned that i before e except after c is NOT always the case. I mean, any damn fool knows that. Students learn this rule in elementary school, along with the fact that a lot is NOT one word.
Either your spellchecker doesn’t work or your checker can’t spell.
Regardless, I’m surprised this hasn’t been caught and taken care of, especially in a company as big as AT&T(apparently size doesn’t matter).
We pay good money for our phones and our overages, and NOW…our UVerse, which, in turn, goes into the pockets of your employees I’m sure.
My next bulk email from you, I expect the spelling error to be corrected and for the idiot who wrote the email to write “received” 1000 times on the blackboard in my husbands classroom.
Thanks again,
Your Loyal and Much Better Speller AT&T Customer
P.S. Your coverage sucks but I like the iPhone better than the Droid so I’m stuck with ya.

You just haven’t met the right Droid.
Seriously, the best thing about Android based phones is….
There are more than one of them.
Made by different companies..
And available on different carriers…
So that consumers have a choice….
And aren’t stuck with one life-sucking carrier and buying the latest trendy toy from a life-sucking hardware manufacturer.

I’m stunned! That is just nuts.
I get annoyed by the “Dear Valued Customer” emails about my account. Do they not yet know how to personalize their automatic emails? Yahoo knows. I love their cheery little, “Hello Maria” greetings. Doesn’t the statement “Dear Valued Customer” seem a bit, oh… I don’t know… oxymoronic to you? The irony makes me chuckle at least, so score one for entertainment value, I suppose.
Not. Surprised. At all. We live in a world where too many people can’t spell even the simple words, never mind the ones with the i’s and e’s after the c’s.

I don’t like the droid either. The problem isn’t with the phone, it’s the OS. It’s cumbersome.
I do however love my palm. And you can get those with a reasonable plan. Unlike the iPhone.

My Evo has gone from “Hey this is cool” to “OMG I’d die if I lost it” in less than a month. That’s pretty good for a guy who has 10 years of blackberry behind him.
And “I before E, Except After C” would have screwed up Einstein. He’s got it wrong twice in his name.

Yep, that there is some quality writing. Way to go, AT&T.

I blame At&t for my “I hate talking on the phone” illness. I haven’t had a phone call not disconnect on me in years! I love my iPhone, but hate my service! We have Uverse cable, but we no longer use Uverse internet. I use to lose my internet connection daily. ARGH!!!! At&t!!!

I didn’t think I’d like the Droid as much as the iPhone but I have to say that I love it. And Verizon has much better coverage (and cheaper calling and data plans) than AT&T.

I have to admit I love my I-Phone, and if Verizon is allowed to carry it, I will drop AT&T like a hot tater

Now make that into a form letter: distribute it to 100 AT&T customers and get everyone to send the same letter.
Let’s see how they like it
