To My Baby,
My darling youngest child.
I love you.
I love your smells, your sounds. I love your giggles and your guffaws. I love your new gangsta look with the backward baseball cap and the silly glasses. I love how you wait to the last minute to go to the bathroom and go running in holding your tushie. I love your raspy voice. I love your sense of humor. I love how you can play with your “guys” for hours on end, by yourself. I love how you love life. I love how you find excitement in even the most monotonous things. I love how you question anything and everything, oftentimes leaving me stumped and running to Google for answers. I love that you think that when we die we are coming back as dragonflies. I love that you are truly a unique person with a mind of your own.
I think you are amazing.
I’m so honored that you are mine.
But the next time you call out for me at 6:30 a.m to come into your room to turn on your lights because you don’t feel like getting out of bed yet…
I’m sending you to boarding school.
