He was all snaggle-toothed for weeks.
It dangled for days and he’d only eat soft, cut up foods because he was scared he’d swallow it.
And then…
A sweet smelling peach from the fruit bowl tempted and teased him.
He gave in, much like Eve and her apple.
Only, he didn’t get cast out of any garden. He simply lost his tooth. And when I say lost, I mean…he can’t find it anywhere. It’s not in the peach. It’s not on the driveway where he was standing to eat this juicy fruit. And he doesn’t think he swallowed it.
But that’s OK. The all-knowing Tooth-Fairy still came. And OBVIOUSLY didn’t have anything smaller than a $5, which really, when there is a kid with a tooth as wiggly as this particular kids…the Fairy of Teeth should have been more prepared.
But, the $5 is a good start because, if you can tell from the photo, this cute kid who so proudly holds his tooth money while displaying the ginormous gap in his mouth…
Is going to DESPERATELY need braces. So, he needs to start saving now.
Although he REALLY, REALLY wants to go to Target today and buy a toy.

My son has lost 2 teeth so far and he’s gotten 5 bucks a pop, too. By the time he loses all his teeth he’s going to be rich while the tooth fairy’s gonna be broke.

Same thing happened with my daughter. She literally LOST her first tooth and we think she might have swallowed it but we’re not sure. She got $5 too cause mom never has change 🙂

Baby Girl told me that one of her friends got $40 for her tooth. First I don’t believe her, and even if it is true that is insane. I told her that her tooth fairy doesn’t have that kind of money. I think she was trying to trick me into a visit to Build-a-bear.

Our tooth fairy always gives $5 for the first tooth…then much less for the rest.

We’ve let our girls know that the tooth fairy is kinda like us—some days she has cash, other days she has change and stale gum. Sigh.

Mine got $5 for the first and much less (maybe a $1?) after that. I told him that the Tooth Fairy is extra generous for the first tooth. He once lost one of his on the playground – he cried and cried. So we wrote a note to the Tooth Fairy explaining what happened – and he was happy to see she accepted his explanation and bestowed him with cash anyway. Thanks for bringing back the memories!

What a cutie patootie. Loose teeth make me cringe. They gross me out. Luckily I have the kind if boys who will taunt me with them mercilessly in years to come. For now, I just pray they stay in their bikes and away from the asphalt. I’d like to keep these teeth intact fir as long as possible.
