Blogging, to me, isn’t what it used to be. It’s too much about things that I’m not interested in, yet somehow, I get caught up in it. The drama, the competitiveness, the numbers. Those silly things never used to matter to me. They shouldn’t matter. Yet, somehow, they’ve been the main driving force behind my blog and what I decide to write about.
Done. Over it. Sick of it. It’s ridiculous. It’s silly.
I’m taking a break from this place. I’ll be somewhere else. If you don’t know where I am, you can ask. I’ll tell you. I’m not really hiding. I’m just changing location. For now.
I just want to say something here, on this blog…
Who cares what other people are doing, thinking, acting like. Why should it effect everyone so much? If it’s nothing you can control and it’s not happening in your home, then really? No offense but, who the heck cares. Move on. Mind your own. Get over it.
That’s all.
I may be back. I might not. I don’t know. But for now…so long.

It’s funny. When I started blogging a year ago, I read all sorts of posts about blogging and how it isn’t what it used to be, and I didn’t get it. But now…a year later…I kind of think that blogging isn’t what it used to be! Lots of incredible writers and storytellers, but too much attempt to brand oneself, to drive up traffic number by means other than good writing. I’m guilty of some of it, but, I, too, am planning to tone it down a bit. Focus only on writing and the cool friends I’ve made, and try to worry less about everything else.

Melissa, I can relate to your post. I’ve thought about leaving the blogging world a lot over the last few months. But, I stay because I do love it. I think I’m going to go back to the beginning when I did it just for fun.

I’m not a blogger. I can barely write a thank you note. Everything I learned in English Comp has slipped my mind. So my opinion is based strictly on emotion. I don’t know you and I have no clue how I found this blog. That being said, Thank you. Sometimes in life we come across people whose lives we touch. I just wanted you to know that you have touched mine. You gave me the motivation to go back to college and to be more gracious with others. For me your writing wasn’t about where you were going, but that you were in the moment while writing and letting me take the journey with you. Took a temporary leave almost a year ago and have yet to find the desire to go back. I had an extremely unfortunate experience with a woman who singled me out and did nothing but criticize and leave rude comments. She soured me on what should have been a fun forum on raising kids.
I have enjoyed the visits to your blog, and hope for the best in your decision, either way.
