OK. I wrote, revised, edited, revised, edited again. And now, may I present to you…my first try with poetry.
In Waiting
The canvas stares. Blankly.
Waiting. Exposed. Ready.
Brush poised. Dangling
in anticipation for
its collision with creativity.
Frozen, the artist stands
motionless. Deep in thought.
Concentrating. Straining.
Yet unable to capture
the muted whisperings
of his muse.
Perfect. Beautiful. 🙂 You should pat yourself on the back! I would hug you.

Looks good to me! It’s you, and ultimately whether it’s prose or poetry, the style needs to be yours.

My goodness. Are you sure that’s your first try? If so, you need to keep doing it!

Me likey. Favorite line? “Yet unable to capture
the muted whisperings
of his muse.” That is so me right now.
Beautifully written! Felt like I was there- or that was me… hmm.. I think it often is me actually.
What a bright spot in my day! Thanks.
Wow! I’m impressed, Melissa!
I give you an A on this assignment!
Wonderful!
Where have you been hiding this talent???
Beautiful imagery! I like the idea of the artist’s brush poised for ‘its collision with creativity.’
That is perfect. Exactly how it feels to sit down and begin writing. Loved it. Seriously. Perfect.
I love it, Melissa. Well done!
