It started much like any other day. I woke up. Rolled over. Yelled because I had no internet connection due to being on vacation in the backwoods of Virginia. Which, I guess isn’t part of what my daily morning routine NORMALLY includes.
Virginia, pretty. But backwoods means no bars…of the connection type. Lots of bars of the alcohol type, though. In ancient buildings. With ghosts and history and…I digress…
So as I was saying, I woke up. Figured out how to hook my computer up with a really slow connection. And found a comment waiting to be approved from…the fucking Bloggess. She left a comment on my blog. And now, I’m in love. Sigh.
But wait. It gets better…
Right after swimming. And grocery shopping, because we are doing our own cooking. Swimming more. Fist fights breaking out between my oldest boys…gee, that’s always great…
I spoke with the assistant Producer, Producer and someone else really cool…for the Dr. Phil show.
Seems that I left a comment on my favorite blog, Jessica Gottlieb.com a long time ago. Something about moms leaving kids. And I’m raising my step kids. And stuff that I probably vented but don’t completely remember what I said.
This got into the hands of Dr. Phils assistant producer, Bryan. Who emailed me. Which I thought was a joke because he addressed it to Caroline, originally. Turned out, it was real and meant for me.
And I went through an interview process over the phone. In a little tiny spot at this place in Virginia that my family and I are vacationing at, along with our good friends. I couldn’t move from this brick retaining wall. I had to sit still, in case the bars dropped which, in turn, dropped the call.
I spoke passionately of my feelings of moms leaving their kids. I made them very aware that I’m raising my step kids. And how I feel about this particular topic.
And it looks like I’m going to L. A., this coming Tuesday night for a Wednesday morning taping. I’m freaking out.
And even if, after they call my psychologist and they think I shouldn’t be a part of this…
OMG. I’m amazed. Because I just wrote a post about how it seems like this type of thing happens to everyone else.
And the Bloggess leaving a comment on my piddly little blog?
Now me?
If it doesn’t really happen. And I am told thank you anyways by Dr. Phils’ producers.
Thank you. Because today was one of the most exciting days, aside from birthing children and marrying my husband.
And today. I feel like I won the mega-millions lottery.
Too bad I forgot to buy tickets to the real one, eh?
Today I Won The Lottery
