Late night moans of ecstasy echo throughout every mecca of love in every Kingdom. A sure sign that all the Prince and Princesses are safely away, enjoying their summer, pampered at their Camp For Royals. Leaving all the Royal Parents to enjoy their alone time with doors and windows open, no worries of Royal PITAS catching them “in the act”.
The Queen in question, however. Her desire for any type of love-fest had be squashed. Thwarted. Fizzled.
Because you see.
Every bright, shiny summer day. While her Pretty, Pretty Princesses are at Pretty, Pretty Princess Camp. After the Queen pulls herself away from Twitter. And her morning blogroll.
The Queen strolls to the drawbridge. To the mailbox. Where she waits, very excitedly and impatiently. For word from her daughters.
The Reigning Queen Supreme needs to know. As often as possible. That her beautiful girls are alive and in one piece.
Generally, the Queen is greeted with parchments telling of food fights. And horseback riding. And dances.
But the other day.
After the Queen ran to gather her mail.
She sorted through it.
And found a little purple envelope.
The Royal stamp was on it. But it was addressed to no one.
So the Queen opened it. The writing. It looked so familiar.
It was in her youngest daughter, Princess Curly Q Nosybutt’s hand.
This note. It was written quickly. Frantically.
It simply said:
Dear Mom,
I REALLY!!! want to go home! Plz pick me up i hate this bunk I MISS U SO MUCH!! I NEED you to pick me up! I’m missrable! Love, your daughter Princess Curly Q Nosybutt
And, on this heartbreaking letter was a simple picture of a crying face.
The Queen paced.
The Queen cried.
The Queen called the King and begged him to let her go pick up the Princess.
The King said “NO!”
So the Queen cried again.
And she vowed to all the Kingly and Queenly gods that she would NEVER send her daughter to camp again.
Not ever.
Until today.
When she went to the Pretty, Pretty Princess website.
Where new pictures from the day are posted.
And the Queen…
To her surprise.
And relief.
Came across this…
She let out her breath, which she had been holding since she received that horrible letter.
And she thought to herself…
Tonight, the doors and windows will remain open.
And the Queen smiled.
Good for you. I’m not looking forward to these days. Hopefully I’ll be able to hold fast!
Ah, pre-teen/ teenage dramatics! There is nothing quite like them, is there?
the king is right. you gotta let them go and give it time. cant go running every time they call!
and btw….there you go again in regards to your flourishing sex life. stop bragging already!!!! 🙂
Awww, glad she is having a good time and the queen could chillax a little!
Yay! for Princess Curly Q.
And a bigger Yay! for HMTQ.
I’m glad she’s having fun – they always write that at first. I did. Of course, I hated the entire week, but we won’t go there. I only went to camp twice. Both were “Christian” camps, so that probably had a lot to do with it.
I AM SO GLAD YOU DIDN’T PICK HER UP.
Of course she’s MOSTLY having a great time. Homesickness is normal (my younger one had it BAD), and of course she’s not going to think about writing to you when she’s having a great time, right? (too busy!)
But I’m glad you saw the picture for proof. Now you can breathe. xoxo
I was so sure my daughter would be miserable at GS camp, I wanted to get her the second day she as gone. I don’t think she was the least bit homesick. I bet the Princess will have great stories to tell when she gets home.
AWWW! sigh of relief!
Whew!
And I’m sure the King is quite glad, for more than one reason, that he stuck to his guns. ;P
I’m glad she stuck it out! Looks like she’s having a blast.
At least it appears she is having a good time now. Every kid goes through that, especially at that age where it’s all dramatic. Hang in there, she’ll be fine!
Stopping by from SITS!! Love the way you tell your stories:)
Awww I would’ve been like you grabbing the car keys and heading out. However, she got though it which will make her stronger in the long run. Glad the pic made you feel better.
Oooh, that was a tough one. I am sure she wrote it as she was going to sleep, when all kids want to be home in their beds. Way to not go get her!
Awww…. how sweet!!! Popping over to visit from SITS!
I am so glad everything worked out and that the Queen smiles.
