In light of the recently renewed permission to go back onto TiarasandsceptersBook, I’m reposting this. In hopes that the little Princess Curly Q. has learned her lesson.
Princess Curly Q Nosybutt begged.
Princess Curly Q Nosybutt pleaded.
She wanted permission…SO BADLY…to join her royal brothers. And her royal sister. On the Kingdoms social networking site called TiarasandsceptersBook.
Her parents, the Reigning Queen Supreme and the King-ish person hummed.
And they hawed.
Because rules were rules. And one of the rules of use for TiarasandsceptersBook was…you HAD to be 13 to join.
So her parents hummed…again.
They hawed…again.
Because rules were rules. And even the good Reigning Queen Supreme and the King-ish type HAD to obey rules.
“But…” cried Princess Curly Q Nosybutt. “ALL my friends have accounts. And they aren’t 13 yet!”
The Queen and King looked at each other. They rolled their eyes because, quite frankly, they didn’t care what her friends had. Her friends WEREN’T their children.
But…
They stopped their incessant humming.
They quit their ridiculous hawing.
And despite…
And against…
Their so called “better judgment”…
They allowed Princess Curly Q Nosybutt to open a TiarasandscepterBook account.
Things went along just fine.
There was no more begging.
There was no more pleading.
There was no more humming.
There was no more hawing.
There was, however, an awful large amount of instantaneous messaging going on.
And there was, however, an awful large amount of friendship making with the friends of Princess Curly Q’s siblings.
INCLUDING but not limited to…
Prince Hairy…Curly Q’s oldest brother…
His mad. His passionate. Girl that he may…or may not…depending on the day. Crush.
And this friendship between the Fair Maiden and Princess Curly Q on TiarasandsceptersBook…was a red flag for a recipe leading to DISASTER.
The Princess had noticed that this Fair Maiden was publicly declaring, all over the public walls, in public…that she adored. And crushed on. Prince Hairy.
And the Princess further noted that (because, despite the forthcoming events, she really is very bright) the Prince was doing a lot of humming. And a ton of hawing. Instead of publicly responding, all over the public walls…publicly…that he too, adored this young Fair Maiden.
So the Princess, after noticing and noting. Decided to ignore her common sense and her “better judgment” (assuming that they were even alerted to what was going on) and she decided to take matters into her own, dainty hands.
Which…unfortunately. Was just a no good, rotten, awful idea. Despite the best intentions that were there.
You see…
Princess Curly Q Nosybutt sent the Fair Maiden notes privately…NOT publicly (so that’s good thinking at least…one would think) that whispered of the Prince and his reciprocated crush.
And the Princess sent private notes SCREAMING of the Princes undying love for the Fair Maiden.
And the Fair Maiden, after weeks of stalking the castle gates, wondering when her Prince would come and notice her…
Upon hearing the good news, directly from the Princess, that her Prince crushed on her too…
She did what most 13 year old Fair Maidens do when they have made a conquest.
They went on to the next guy…
And Princess Curly Q admitted to Prince Hairy what she had done.
And Prince Hairy came to his Mommy…the Reigning Queen…sobbing and heartbroken over what his sister, Princess Curly Q, had done. That she had betrayed him and his trust. And he was devastated.
And he was devastated that his first true crush was over before it even had a chance to begin…OH THE DRAMA!!
The Reigning Queen Supreme and the King-ish type person looked at each other. And they knew what the other was thinking. Because every once in awhile, the rulers are on the same page…
The Queen looked at her daughter.
The King looked at his daughter.
And without ANY humming.
And without ANY hawing.
They both declared…
Off With Your Head…er…
Delete your account…immediately.
And the Princess begged…and cried.
And the Princess pleaded…and whined.
But there was still no humming.
Or hawing.
The crime had been done.
The punishment had been set.
And a new rule was made…which will NOT be broken.
Because rules are so obviously there for a reason…duh.
So for now, the Princess Curly Q Nosybutt is impatiently awaiting the arrival of her 13th birthday…in two more years.
And Prince Hairy is impatiently awaiting a new declaration of love…either publicly or privately…by the same…or different…Fair Maiden.
And the Reigning Queen Supreme and King-ish person are using their “better judgment” and are on the same page…
For now…
I started gritting my teeth a little bit when I read that she was allowed access in spite of the rules…but was relieved that her account was deleted when she took advantage.
Congrats to Princess Curly Q on coming of age: FOR REAL. 🙂
I think you made a great decision on this. You did something that broke the rules, but gave your daughter the benefit of the doubt and showed you trusted her (I think that is a great thing), then when she broke that trust and hurt her brother, you did what you needed to do and stood by your decision. She needs to learn her lesson and be responsible and trustworthy and you are doing an excellent job showing her all of that. You should be very proud of this “parenting moment” even with the broken rules involved.
