This past week has been milestone ridden.
First, the Bat Mitzvah. Which was awesome. And I’ll do a picture post in the next couple days. Everything was perfect. She was. The service. The party. It was better than I expected. It was EXACTLY what my daughter had wanted.
My baby. His preschool graduation was last Friday.
It was adorable.
He marched with the rest of the kids through the classroom, to masking tape marked positions. Where…
he took his graduation cap and threw it on the ground. Refused to sing the adorable line-up of songs that were all memorized for us parents. Unzipped his ceremony cloak and whipped it away.
THEN…
leaped into my lap, because silly me, I thought he would be more apt to participate if he saw me in the front row. NOT.
He remained on my lap through the rest of the pomp and circumstance. Draped across me. Arms wrapped around my neck. My little cling-on.
But next year, he’ll still be at that school. Because behaviorally, he isn’t ready to be unleashed onto the public school teachers classrooms.
Gee. I wonder where his preschool teacher got this idea that he needed a growth year? hmmm…
And then. Another HUGE event will be held tomorrow. In the elementary school gym. When my little field mouse. And all the lemmings. 😉 Have their 5th grade recognition.
My precious daughter. The one whose voice reaches decibels that causes instantaneous rupturing of the ear membranes, thus causing profuse bleeding from said orifice.
That beautiful little girl.
Is going to be going off to middle school with her 3 older siblings. Next year, she’ll be a 6th grader.
I hope she works as hard in middle school, as she did in elementary school. Because that little girl, despite all the problems she’s been having with kids. And with the academics. Has done amazing! She is a rare breed, that one. People are drawn to her. She just has this way about her. It will get her far in life. Plus, she’s a smart girl who works hard. What a combination.
She takes after her Mommy!!
Congratulations to both my of my youngest children. My youngest baby. My youngest daughter. You’ve both just passed one of many milestones you will have in your lives.
Only good things, my loves.
And I hope to be there, always. To proudly share these events with you.
I love you. Both of you.
My little graduates.
Mwah.

Wow those are some big events all in a short matter of time.
How exciting for the kids…. When they aren’t clinging the breath out of Mommy…
