So. Are you interested in my thoughts on Jon and Kate Plus the brood?
Who cares!!
Honestly.
People cheat. People get caught cheating. It’s happening every day. All over the world. Only…their little adventures are part of our nations media coverage.
Oh. Well.
They made a lot of money being in the public eye, I am assuming.
How can they even utter a complaint?
As for the couple being upset over the media following them. Answer me this…
What in the world did they expect to happen? They have a popular (and I have no clue why) show on one of the cable channels. They have been in the limelight for a few years now. Cameras have been focused on their every move. After all, THEY ARE part of the REALITY t.v craze…right. So how can they get upset that their affairs (yeah, pun intended) are being made public?
DUH!!!
They should have thought of that before they dotted their t’s and crossed their i’s…or whatever it is they do to sell their soul to syndicated television…
And, by the way, I can proudly say…I’ve NEVER watched the show. Just all of the media coverage about it is starting to annoy me. But, I’m easily annoyed.
On to bigger and more betterest things…
As you may or may not know…or care, for that matter…
I’ve been in the process of planning my step-daughters Bat Mitzvah. Well, the day is almost here. A week from Saturday. I’m hoping all my Oriental Trading stuff arrives…on time. And I’m hoping I ordered more than enough food. I really hope it goes smoothly, for my daughters sake.
But…
Wanna know what I’ve noticed, while planning this event on an EXCEPTIONALLY limited budget?
Gonna tell ya…
You don’t have to spend a fortune to get everything you want.
I said it.
I had a tiny. minute. itty, bitty budget.
And I was still able to hire a photographer. A very popular D.J company WITH an M.C. Awesome giveaways. A ton of crap from Oriental Trading…which, by the way…is a great catalog for parties! A local caterer (although, the one I REALLY wanted…Carlo…I couldn’t use:( ).
My point…
People in my area…and I’m sure other areas…who plan their childrens Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, try to outdo each other. They make theirs like weddings. And they are all so competitive. It’s REALLY disgusting. And it REALLY teaches their children the WRONG lessons.
And in planning my event…I realized, even more so, how obnoxious and pretentious these people are. Because my daughter is having pretty much THE SAME THING as all of those wedding types…
minus the elaborate centerpieces. And minus the ballroom of our expensive hotels.
But it’s going to be a party for the kids. With swimming. And dancing. And volleyball. And basketball. And copious amounts of yummy food.
And no alcohol. Which…SUCKS.
So, I’m going to have to have a bottle of wine stashed in my car to bong down before arriving at the party. NOT kidding.
But I’m nervous. I want my daughter to love her Bat Mitzvah. And to have amazing memories from it. Even if it was just her step-mother planning it. With no help…at all…from the real Mom. Not that I needed her help. But I wonder how my daughter is going to feel. When she looks back on her party. Is she going to question why it is that her mother didn’t help. Or is she just going to realize that it was how it was…always. For everything.
And THAT is as random as you are going to get from me today.
Hey…I have a couple of guest posters lined up for next week. I would like a couple more. If you’re interested, please…let me know. I won’t be in the right mind to think of posting. My little guy will be pretty much done with pre-school. And I’ll be in the final stages of the Bat Mitzvah planning.
I’d appreciate it!!
mwah!
XOXO
I love your randomness.
Jon & Kate, I’ve watched maybe a couple of times, when the kids were younger and cuter… now the couple, they’re all over the mags, the book tours, speaking engagements, it’s getting rather annoying. Did you hear the ratings for the season premiere? Doesn’t look like the publicity is hurting it one bit. It’s a machine.
The Bat mitzvah sounds like it’s going to be wonderful … quite the party, quite the celebration and quite the FUN TIME. I think your daughter will love you for it; I’m hoping she doesn’t wonder why her “bio” Mom wasn’t involved, it may just be a fleeting thought. I mean, it doesn’t sound like it’s anything out of the ordinary, the lack of involvement, I mean.
You’re an awesome Mom, I hope you realize that.
I’m am not a fan of that show. I think I’ve watched 15 minutes of an episode, and that was about all I could take.
The Bat Mitzvah sounds great! I definitely need to remember the Trading company for future use. Definitely seems like you did your homework.
That Bat Mitzvah sounds AWESOME, and yes, I totally agree with you on doing things on a limited budget, and how so many are over the top, and the importance of stashing wine where you need it.
And even if your step-daughter someday wonders why her mom didn’t help out, she will also remember that someone DID help out and make it a wonderful time.
jon and kate ate 8 and all…for some weird reason my daughter likes it. I find that infinitely frightening!
The money matters not, with the part. The mother matters not, either. It’s what you’re giving her, a fine day with family and friends. She’ll remember that forever!
I also kept a low/tight budget for both Bar Mitzvahs. The kids had just as good of a time as they had at the other parties that cost in the thousands & thousands of dollars-range. Our DJ (who is a good friend and even took off another $100) played only ONE slow dance (for the adults). The rest of the party was all pop music and group dances. It was a BLAST.
Yours/hers will be a BLAST too! I can’t wait for pictures and stories! 🙂
I wanna go to the Bar Mitzvah. Can I come? Can I come? PWEASE!!! LOL And you are totally right, they made the show, they don’t get to bitch because they are on TV and ppl follow them. Turn off the cameras and carry on with life like normal people do. It’s sad, but it’s life.
The party is gonna be phenomenal bc it’s exactly what she wanted and it was put together with love by her mom. She knows who her real mom is! There’s a reason why that giant puppy cuddles in your lap. There’s a reason why you’re the one she calls to pick her up from school when she’s sick. There’s a reason why you’re the one to take her to the doctor. The list goes on and on. You have earned the title of “mom” with her. She knows. And, she very obviously loves you. We can’t wait to share this momentous occasion with you and your daughter. And, we’re very proud of you for accomplishing this tremendous feat!!
