My first born.
My 9 pound 11 oz., 19 3/4 inch baby.
A true bundle of joy.
The surge of love, immediate.
Unending.
Growing stronger.
Watching you then.
Watching you now.
Everything you did amazed me.
You still amaze me.
I love you so much.
Don’t let fickle girls break your heart.
Stay strong. They can be bitches.
Keep your grades up.
Because YOU…
are brilliant.
And YOU…
have the potential to be ANYTHING.
Just stay focused.
You want to design video games…then that’s what you’ll do!
You don’t have to get your hair chopped. But let’s discuss getting a trim, OK?

    I still remember when you announced your pregnancy…eating goldfish crackers and telling the baby within that I would be his favorite…the ultrasound when he flashed us full frontal…sitting in the hospital waiting room waiting and waiting and waiting…watching that beautiful baby roll by on his way to the nursery…holding him for the first time and falling hopelessly and totally in love…how can it be 13 years later? I love that boy!!! And, i’m so excited to watch him grow up and to see the man that he will become. His beautiful heart and soul match his beautiful face, and combined with his intelligence (that he clearly inherited from me!) his opportunities are endless. Happy, Happy 13th Birthday to the first love of my life! You done good, sister!! xoxoxoxo

    It is unbelievable that my first born grandson has reached 13 so fast. He was my first boy and I was overjoyed. I remember the whole group of us awaiting his arrival in the hospital. I remember his being wheeled out and how gorgeous he was. What a special day that was. And special he still is. Actually, auntie, his intelligence was inherited from me, as was yours. I came first.

    Aaaaaaah a teenager! Scary! I can’t imagine Avery EVER being a teen (she is only 4 weeks old after all and should totally stay this way forever). Oh and by the way, his hair is GORGEOUS and if I were his mother I would raise his allowance to bribe him to not cut his hair. Long hair on guys = love it! My husband’s hair is past his shoulders thanks to my cajoling 🙂
