Last night, my oldest son was playing a little…um…rough…with my nephew and my sister.
And a couch pillow crashed into a head.
A head crashed into a nose.
A nose was covered by a hand.
A mouth opened to yell and to cry.
My nephews head. My sisters nose.
My son…the pillow throwing culprit.
And he didn’t understand why because he didn’t see or know…what happened after the pillow landed.
All he knew was that he was getting screamed at by his favorite aunt, who was holding her nose and crying in pain and frustration.
And due to the fact that he doesn’t have good coping skills. And due to the fact that he is so sensitive…
He took off. And he sat against his bedroom door so no one could enter his room.
But later…
After my sister…his favorite aunt…tried to talk to him…
After he heard everyone leave…
He moved away from the door.
And hid.
I know this because I went to go talk to him.
I couldn’t find him in his room.
He wasn’t on his bed.
He wasn’t hiding in a corner.
He wasn’t in his closet.
He wasn’t hiding in the bathroom…
or in one of the other kids bedrooms…
No…
I found him…
Sound asleep…
With his pillow…
And his blanket…
Under his bed.
Like one of his childhood invisible friends that he used to have who lived under the bed.
This…is what I saw…
My little troll…
Finally, around midnight…
I was able to get him to go into his bed.
But only AFTER I got those pictures!!
I can only imagine the mood he is going to be in when he gets home from school.
I think I’m going to be the one hiding under a bed later!
I hope your sister’s nose is not broken and that your son recovers too.
I know a boy like this. I have a boy like this. Mine is seven. Yours?
(thank you for your kind words, thank you, thank you)

it isn’t fun until someone gets hurt and another hides under their bed. 🙂
As long as he doesn’t do this when he turns thirty and has a fight with his wife.
hahaaaaaaa
Aww, that’s sorta sweet…my son hides to cope too…
Oh I loved that story-he might not so much, but I thought it was cute!
The pics are priceless!
I still adore him, even after he broke my nose and stopped speaking or looking at me for several days!! Fortunately he got over it, and my nose wasn’t so great to begin with. 🙂
