First of all…THANK YOU! For your comments on my little pms’y pity post. I appreciate you and your support!! Big squishy hugs and wet kisses to you!!
Now…
I was contacted by this companyEcostore USA a few weeks ago. They were checking out us Michigan mom blogs because…they are coming in to Michigan. And what louder…er…bigger…er…most influential (yeah, we’ll stick with influential) voice on the internet than me…ok fine…us…Mommy bloggers!
So, this guy…we’ll call him Rand. He wanted to know if he could send me some of this stuff to try out…but the catch was…I’d have to write a review.
And I was like…sure. I can always use some household crap. And…of course I’ll write a review. But I’m going to be honest. And not lie so…send at your own risk.
So this guy…we’ll still call him Rand. He sent me out this stuff. And it’s all kinds of earth friendly and earth happy and down with earth and go earth…natural.
Can we backtrack for a second. Why does it have to be called “Going Green”? Seriously…that has all sortsa negative vibes for me. Because green is associated with envy and…well…amphibians. And I personally, could completely do without one and am subjected on a seasonal basis to the other. So…
Why can’t it be called like…dunno…”Going Back to Basics”? or…”Going Brown”? or…”Going Camo”? Anything…but WHY GREEN?
So where was I? OH YES…
I got shipped out these lovely products:
A Plant based, super concentrate Laundry Liquid…high efficiency machine friendly!! And…I love it. Really. Honestly. There is a pleasant scent…eucalyptus I believe. The laundry comes out clean and smelling very lightly of Halls cough drops…but not in a gross way!! No one broke out from it!! THAT…is always a good thing! It’s ingredients are ALL pronounceable, for example…fatty acid derivative. Or…mineral hydroxide. Yeah…that’s about as complex as it gets. So…I give this product my Rock and Drool stamp of full approval. And yes, I will buy it again. They are moving into Meijers so…I’ll be doing some shopping there!!
Now…the Naturally Antibacterial Spray Cleaner. It’s OK. Don’t love it. It makes me cough when I use it. I think it’s the zest of citrus peel. It gets right into my lungs. But…I feel like, when I spray the table and there are some wet spots…I’m not worried that it’s going to kill, harm, maim or permanently disfigure my children in any way, shape or form. The thing I’m NOT crazy about is…it doesn’t have bleach in it. So…you have to scrub…really hard. And I’m all for bleach and not having to scrub hard. But it definitely works on surfaces that aren’t super coffee stained or permanent marker scratched! And again…the ingredients are all natural and pronounceable. I like that about this stuff!! But I still love me some harsher ingredients like bleach. Especially in my house. With all those kids. Cats. And other creatures…hubby included.
The last thing I received was Lemongrass soap. Yummy. I want to eat it but…that would be gross, right? It. Smells. So. Good. And…it’s gentle. And…it. SMELLS. SO. GOOD!! It doesn’t dry out my skin any more than any other soap I use. I was selfish and didn’t share it with my kids so…I don’t know if it would dry out kids skin. What. EVER. To them!! The ingredients on the soap get a little harder to pronounce but…the main ones are sodium palmate (palm), sodium cocoate (cocoa), water and lemongrass oil. Then there are other non-harmful things. Love…this soap. Love it. And…I don’t know if I mentioned…it smells…soooo good!
The prices are comparable to other eco friendly, green products. But…since these came to my attention, are coming into my economically declining state of Michigan…I’m now, officially, partial to this product…
Which, by the way, is originally from New Zealand
Now the other catch.
I’m giving those three products away. So…if you want to win the Laundry liquid, the antibacterial spray cleaner and the lemongrass soap (did I mention…it smells so good?)…
You have a bunch of different ways to get extra entries.
Pay attention. This is going to be a little more of a thinking one.
For one entry…
Leave a comment about what, if anything, you do to be camo…OK FINE…green.
For another entry…
Go to ecostore usa and tell us which product you would want to try.
For a third entry…take my gi. gun. gi. Ginormous. Rock and Drool Badge. And put it on your blogs. I want to see my Frankenstein bride self…all over the place. Makes me shudder…er…happy.
Forth…tweet away people. You can follow me there, too. RockDrool is the name. Tweeting…my game. Shut up!
Fifth…Blog about it. K.
That’s it. That is all you have to do. And…this contest will end on Tuesday March 3 at Midnight or when I wake up on Wednesday March 4…whichever comes first.
By the way…you’ll be getting all new products. Not…the ones that I’ve already used. Because THAT would NOT make for a good giveaway, now would it?
THIS BREAKING NEWS JUST IN…from…we’ll call her Lyne…
some of the MEIJER stores have not gotten the product up but are diligently moving forward with it —we hope to be in all 185 stores by Sunday, March 1. Moms should absolutely ask the MEIJER manager “where are the Ecostore products”
Mwah!

I have low flow faucets and fluorescent bulbs. I turn off lights and electronics when not in use (screen savers don’t save energy!) and I keep my blinds closed when it’s cold and dark out and at a 45 degree angle when it’s sunny and warm – to let sun in for natural light without affecting the heat load and causing more use of HVAC. And can I just say, “Recycle, recycle, recycle”!!! Not just plastic, glass and aluminum, but everything possible!!
