Before I leave the house in the morning, I have a make-up regime.
Under eye concealer. Mascara. Eye liner on my upper lids. Lip gloss.
I won’t leave the house without putting on those four things. Not if I can help it.
I wouldn’t want to break cameras and mirrors.
Evening, of course…I put the whole face on.
My specialty is eye shadow. I LOVE wearing eyeshadows. And I’m good at applying it.
Make up. I adore it. I can make myself sexy. Cute. Flirty. Whatever.
I love being a girl.
Because I love wearing make-up.
So…when E.L.F. said that would give me their Beauty Encyclopedia to give away here, on Rock and Drool…
I started drooling. But…I can’t win it.
I actually use some of E.L.Fmake up.
The eye shadows are really nice. The color combos are beautiful. The go on wonderfully and stay on. And they don’t powder all over your face as badly as some other make up that I wear. You know what I mean…when you put on the make up and it snows down your face, leaving a rainbow of eye shadow powder on your cheeks. Yeah. I HATE that!!
So…

Creating new looks for myself with makeup to me is so much fun! I have always enjoyed experimenting with makeup to bring out the best with what I have and I love to constantly reinvent myself by never keeping to the same makeup routine, always striving to evolve as a girl and keep my looks ever changing! I always start with a face primer to make my skin silky smooth, Then I use concealer to even out my skin tone and hide any imperfections that may have creeped up overnight. Then I use mineral makeup foundation to give my face a matte polished appearance. I also use a coral color blush on my cheekbones and a pinkish coral color lipgloss on my lips. Last, I use a taupe color eyeshadow and black mascara. That is my bare bones makeup routine, if I have no special plans and just want to have a natural, soft look and want to feel confident and pulled together. But, if I have plans to get together with friends, or plan to hit the town or do anything out of the ordinary, then I love to use my creativity to unleash whatever mood I am in, and like an artist with a brush and pallette, I will use a variety of color to enhance my eyes, paying close attention to blending them to either give them a watercolor appearance, or a high drama look. There are endless possibilities on what you can do with makeup and to me the trick is to not be afraid to test out different techniques and see what works best for you! I want to bring out my personal best, it gives me confidence, a feeling of being in control, and it is empowering when you feel you look great! I have to add, I do not use expensive makeup, I feel it is more technique and creativity within you that gives you quality, not the amount of money that you spend on your products that give you quality. What I love about the e.l.f. line of cosmetics and beauty products is that they are priced for the everyday girl, they are quality products that won’t empty out your wallet. My favorite bare bones e.l.f. product choices, the ones I would use as my favorite “go to” products are: The e.l.f. Mineral Foundation in the Warm Color, the e.l.f. Tone Correcting Concealer, the Natural Radiance Blusher in the Glow color, the Neutral Nude eyeshadow kit, the Earth & Water Mascara Duo in the Noire color and the Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Cherry Tart color. These very classic signature items from e.l.f would be what I would love, love, love to use on a daily basis to make my face glow, bring out my inner beauty and make myself feel happy and good about my appearance. I always remember that being happy inside and having that inner spark is half the battle of looking and feeling your best! Thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts and routine and for the opportunity to enter.

I have the exact same ‘don’t leave the house without it’ routine…
Under eye concealer, eyeliner on the upper lids, mascara and lip gloss. If I’m going out (or going out to where I most likely will run into someone I know) I’ll add pressed powder and eyeshadow.
the E.L.F. makeup looks intriguing – I’d like to try the Shimmering Facial Whip, the Luscious Liquid Lipstick, and would love to win the Beauty Encyclopedia!
BTW – I’m stopping by from SITS! 😉

Hi there, I’d like to enter this awesome giveaway! I’m new to SITS and found you linked over there. My makeup routine is very simple, actually. I usually use a little foundation/powder if I’m breaking out (at 27, ugh), and I wear mascara and eyeliner. I’m very particular about my lashes, I’ll spend a good half hour on them, applying light layers and combing them until they are long and fabulous! I’ll finish it off with a little lip gloss and blush if I’m going out on the town. I would love to try the clarifying facial powder and the facial whip. Those both sound awesome!
Julie says
Very nice giveaway…I looked at the ELF site and I would love to try their minerals.
My routine is very simple, because I don’t like to wear a whole lot of make up. And I usually don’t put anything on my eyes for work.

I tweeted too 🙂

My makeup routine:
foundation, concealer, pressed powder, blush, eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow & lip gloss
I LOVE Elf products ! The “get the look set”, tone correcting concealer, natural radiance blusher & hypershine gloss would be awesome for my “routine”

My makeup regimen is moisturizering, Bobbi Brown stick foundation, eye shadows, eyeliner, mascara & blush. Finish the look with Clinque loose powder!
Dddiva says
For me – after the basics I NEED concealer, liner, mascara, blush and gloss at a minimum. The shadows etc are for when I have time.
I haven’t used ELF cosmetics (yes, I know, I know but mama raised me on dept. store stuff) but the mini-diva forwarded me a sale email from them and told me her cosmetology teacher said they were great and way cheaper and at the very least to get the trendy colors etc… to save some $ so we are putting together an order as soon as her sisters decide what they want- and for me a bunch of the lip glosses are already on my list.
Dddiva says
I twittered you. 🙂
Susan C says
For day to day makeup, I just use mascara and a touch of lipstick. I’ve become pretty lazy in my makeup routine, and will try to do better. From ELF (love the prices) i would use the Earth & Water Mascara Duo, and the Plumping Lip Glaze.

I use Ivory soap to wash my face. THen I use L’oreal mascara, rimmel bronzer and Beaujolis 3D effect lip gloss.
Maybe Mama says
I always start by washing my face with a good cleanser. Then I apply a moisturizer then wait about 10-15 minutes (using this time to eat breakfast) before applying makeup. I start with eyeliner then eye shadow followed by mascara. I then move to foundation and powder and finish with blush.
Their water proof eyeliner pen would be perfect for me
C. flanigan says
I never leave home without make-up…don’t want to frighten anyone! I tend to use all Estee Lauder products because they always have such great give-aways when you spend $25 at Macy’s. I think your facial whip sounds great…nice and light on the skin. I also like the sound of the Plumping Lip Gloss. Please enter me!
Crys L. says
I cleanse (of course), moisturize, then put on foundation and powder. Over that I apply lip gloss, eyeliner, eyeshadow (neutral shades during the work week). I’ve recently fallen in love with mineral makeup and all of the mineral eyeshadows look great, particularly sassy and confident. Oh, and the shimmer mineral glow… I’m pretty much a makeup junkie, too!
tracy davis says
I would love to try ELF’s therapeutic conditioning lip balm and hypershine gloss
ashley says
I normally moisturize first, then undereye concealer and concealer on places where I need coverage. I usually skip foundation. A little bit of blush, mascara and lipgloss and I’m good to go! From ELF, I would use the facial whip as a highlighter/blush, the mascara, and the moisturizing lip liner in “Bark”. I have that shade, and I have worn it in place of lipstick.
kathy pease says
i never leave the house without makeup in my daily routine i would use
Brightening Eye Liner in black, mocha swirl Duo Eye Shadow Cream, Earth & Water Mascara Duo in noire, Clarifying Pressed Powder tone 3, Natural Radiance Blusher in coy,and Plumping Lip Glaze in plum pout
Betty C says
I am a minimalist. I try to use something that will minimize the dark circles and puffiness under my eyes but other than that it is just moisturizer. I have found that I am allergic to most make-up even the allergy free ones so I reserve the full routine for special occasions.
I would use the lip colors, pencil and brush regularly. My daughter would probably manage to grab everything else.
Valerie says
