I don’t believe in abortion.
Then what am I doing, writing about pro-choice?
Let me explain.
I’m a DIE HARD Pro-Choicer. But…
I don’t believe in abortion when used as the ONLY form of birth control.
One or two abortions…hopefully a lesson was learned. Any more than that…you’re stupid. Really. And the doctors shouldn’t be removing just the embryo…they should be removing your uterus.
But other than that…
My body, my choice.
I’m pro-choice for so many different reasons on so many different levels.
I’m pro-choice because, if it weren’t for abortions, I may have lost my Mommy when I was in kindergarten due to a problematic pregnancy.
I’m pro-choice because, I have daughters who have a right to decide that, if they made a stupid decision by not practicing safe sex then they can make a wise decision by terminating that mistake. And hopefully…learn from it.
I’m pro-choice because, when I was 9 weeks pregnant with my daughter, I had a blood clot. A MASSIVE blood clot. And because I already had a baby at home…I had to DECIDE whether or not to continue on with that pregnancy.
But…I had the RIGHT to DECIDE for myself. And I DECIDED to continue on with that pregnancy. Just like my Mom DECIDED…CHOSE to end her pregnancy, so many years ago.
And if ANYONE thinks that they should have the RIGHT…the CHOICE to decide for me, my mom or my daughters…
They DON’T.
Just like I don’t presume my opinions and beliefs on you.
Because that’s all they are. Opinions and beliefs.
Because the FACTS are…
that “baby”…at 9 weeks of pregnancy. Or 11 weeks. Or 15 weeks. Could NOT live outside your body. It would be a miscarriage. Not a life.
So…I CHOOSE to be able to CHOOSE.
There is no other right way.
And those who CHOOSE not to CHOOSE…do it on your own body.
Leave mine, my sisters, my moms, my children…
out of your CHOICES.
KTHNX.
I too am pro choice….
Just saying…. prepare for the comments they should be rolling in, in 3-2-1
Wow! well said! Amen to that. I agree whole heartedly with your post. I too am pro-choice.
Nicely said.
Very very well said – thanks for saying it. Women have always controlled their pregnancies. This issue is about power, not babies.
Said very well, but your view is my view. Fortunately, I never had to choose. My two full-term pregnancies were in a loving relationship. My husband had a job. My babies were healthy and so was I. I like to think that if my situation was different that I would have chosen to carry the baby to term. But, I was not raped. My children-to-be did not have health issues. I was not an unemployed, single teen. I too am pro-choice because each women deserves the right to choose what is right for them.
We have had this discussion and I am in full agreement. Sorry I haven’t commented lately, things have been a bit crazy, I have been stalking though!!!
