Driving to preschool today, my son asked me if he could play with a friend of his that he hadn’t seen in a couple of months.
I explained to him that his friends Mommy just had a baby boy. So…it was going to be a couple of more months until he could see his friend…seeing as, his friend can’t come to our house due to allergies to animals…which, we have major amounts of!
So my son says…
“Mommy. I NEED a baby brother. I have a lot of stupid baby toys. And…he can sleep in my bed with me. So Mommy…let’s go to the store after school and buy a baby brother.”
“Well honey. You can’t buy babies at stores. Babies get cooked in a Mommy’s tummy. And then, when they are ready, they come out.”
“Mommy. You know how to cook. Right?”
“Um…yeah…” I said…realizing where this was going.
“So MOMMY. COOK ME A BABY BROTHER!” he shouted. With finality. Because, he decided it. So…it was GOING TO HAPPEN.
*raises one eyebrow* (because, i can do that here and NOT in real life!!)
Maybe. Just maybe. I need to come up with another reasonable explanation as to how babies are made.
Yeah…probably a good idea.
OK…don’t forget to go read me on Blissfully Domestic…writing under Blissfully Blended.
Today’s post was called “Are They All Yours?”
MWAH!!
Great job my friend. I went on over and left a comment to boot!!!!

That’s too cute! My explanation to my preschooler was this:
God puts a little bit of Daddy and Mommy together and puts a baby in Mommy’s belly to grow!
So now they are probably praying for a baby brother!! Even though Dad says-no more kids!!!
First time at your site!

Well, get cooking!
Oi. The “We Need A Baby” talk. My kids have that with me weekly. Bless them. I think it’s wonderful how great a child’s capacity is to love.
Thanks for a great post! (And THANKS for stopping by my blog last week! It was a treat to have you. Come anytime.)
Happiest Wednesday!
Both of my children yelled NOOO! when I asked if they wanted another brother or sister….
What does that say about my little monsters?
The Queen is on a campaign for a new baby (the baby brother is too old now). She also wants a kitten, a puppy, and some fish. This despite our current 5 cats and 3 dogs.
