My 5 year old. He believes, with every fiber of his being, that Santa is REAL. After all, Santa is on his favorite holiday movie, Polar Express. And if he is real there…then he REALLY is REAL.
My daughter, on the other hand…
KNOWS that Santa is a fairy tale, of sorts.
She went with me to the dollar store, on” errands from Santa” for our family, last year…
Yes…just because we’re Jewish…we still have stockings filled with gifts on Christmas morning. We just usually forgo the ham and have Chinese food, instead.
So…
Today…
I told her that I need to run errands.
We have a couple of exchanges to make at Toys R Us and Target.
She demanded…in the highest pitch possible…that she is coming too. And wanted to know how much money can she spend there…and blah, blah, blahblah…
I told her, in the nicest, least annoyed Mommy voice that I could possibly muster…which was SO forced…
that she wasn’t coming with me. I wanted to get my errands done, unburdened by baggage…er…children.
And she told me…
in the nastiest, most obnoxious pre-teen voice…
that yes she is indeed coming or “the kid is going to learn that there is no Santa”.
And she walked off calling “Ross…” in an come hither-type voice, glancing over her shoulder at me devilishly…
So…does anyone know where they have good deals on coal? Because…she’s getting a HUGE amount of it.
Hi You! I lost you somewhere
out there in blog land! This
is a different site??? I must
of missed your post that you
moved…Anyway duh on me. Its
been hard to keep up lately.
I hope that you and your family have a nice holiday together. Peace and love to you and yours and bah humbug to the rest! (I know you’ll get this) ha!ha! ♥ Jewelgirl
Oh my… do you think a lump of coal is enough. Maybe some rock and twigs would be good too. Good luck with that.
Wow…I am so not looking forward to the attitude days with my twins! I think I’ll appreciate their 3 year old innocence while it lasts 🙂
My 4 year old has watched Polar Express every day and is convinced of Santa. Convinced! I hope he holds off for a long time before the pre-teen thing!
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!!
That is just too funny! That really made me giggle!
What do you mean, there is no Santa? Do YOU remember waking up Xmas morning to find a kitchen set, which Santa had delivered in a box the night before, just so YOUR dad could stay up all night putting it together? And then your dad was too tired to be up when you and your sister awakened to see what had been forced down the chimney.
Happy Holidays!
Hilarious! You might have a giggle reading my latest post… on coal!
