I’m sure you KNEW that there was a little story to go with my Wordless Wednesday.
My husband had to go to Home Depot to get whatever husbands like to get from that testosterone filled place…seriously, it’s like the male version of Target!!
Anyway…he asked all the kids if they wanted to tag along with him. The only takers were…my littlest son and daughter. But…they’ll go anywhere with my husband. Especially Home Depot. They love the hot dogs!
As they were walking in, a man approaches them. My husband assumed this man wanted to sell him a waterproof basement package or an enclosed sun porch. But no…
The man took a look at my children and said to my husband…”You need to take a picture of your children. They are two of the happiest looking children I’ve seen in a long time.”
And my husband stopped. He looked at the kids and realized…he did need to take a picture. Because, they were TRULY overflowing with happiness.
He had them put their heads together. He didn’t even have to tell them to smile or say cheese. And…with his camera phone, he took the most beautiful picture of my two youngest children.
He found the man who told him that this picture needed to be taken and he showed him the picture. The man was thrilled…it made his day.
For us, this picture is a reminder. That despite all the whining. Despite all the crying. And temper tantrums…
We are doing a good job. Because our children are happy. And they radiate it. Well…2 of the 5, anyway.
But, I think that had they all gone to Home Depot with their Daddy…and the man stopped my husband to take a picture of the kids…all 5 of them would have glowed like that.
And that makes me glow.
Sounds like that man made your day too! Your kids are truly beautiful and they did glow.
That’s a really cool little story! Funny how strangers can do that to us, huh?
It’s always nice when something like that happens to you, huh? Sometimes strangers are nice!
and glow they did!
awwwhhh melissa! that is precious what happened. you are making me tear up here. give me a tissue now. hehe. seriously, you did make my eyes water up by the end of your post. beautiful that you captured and shared this moment and these thoughts.
you rock woman, too.
beany 🙂 xoxo
Totally adorable!
i saw your hubby and all the kids at home depot last year. remember???
That? Is probably one of the awesomenest (yes, its a word if I say it is) moments of daddy-hood…. the moment you realize how truly, truly happy your children are just to be with you.
That is fantastic. Sometimes it takes a complete stranger to make us take notice. I hope to be that stranger when I’m older and finished with pulling my hair out because of my happy little creatures.
Your happy babies are beautiful, M!
This is the best thing I’ve heard in a long time. Good job, Mom! 🙂
What a great story to go with such a sweet photo.
That’s a great story and they are – beautiful, happy kids! You have done good!
Thanks for coming by my site today – nice to see you.
Take care – Kellan
BTW – Our BAby is doing amazingly well. My sister watches him a lot and I got over and see him often – he is darling and a really good baby – very well tempered. He is like 11 lbs. not and is actually starting to look fat – very healthy. Thanks for asking and I hope all goes well with your friends new baby! Take care.
It’s a great pic and a great story!
My girls love to go to Home Depot with their dad too. And luckily it’s right next door to Target so we can both get a little fix!
The testosterone place! Hahaha. That’s a good one. Home Depot could turn that into a sales tag or something. I wish we have Home Depot here. All we have are carabaos sunning themselves and an occasionally visiting peddler who comes weighed down with pots, pans, hammers, and other things that remind us of civilized life.
awww, your babies are so very cute!!
The kids, esp. the girlie, LOVE tagging along to Home Depot!
That is a FABULOUS story! Actually, I love Home Depot myself.
