Summer vacation.
The first week is now over.
Official full swing.
Two boys at day camp.
Girls, sleep-away for three weeks.
Third boy, sulks at home.
Weather, too fall-like.
The pool…waiting to be used.
Amphibians gone!
Days so unhurried.
Actually have time to breath.
It’s a miracle.
Daily walks with hubs.
Gives us private time to talk…
No kids interrupt.
So far, it’s all good.
So far, so uneventful…
life without drama.
So…no news is good new, right? Not much here. It’s quiet. Boring. But…good.
The girls are leaving on Tuesday. For 3 1/2 weeks of overnight summer camp. They went last year, too. I stalked the camp website that displays daily pictures. CONSTANTLY! So, I’m expecting to do that again. Looking to catch a glimpse of either daughter…and then analyze their facial expressions…making sure they are happy and having a good time. I also did a lot of standing by the mailbox…waiting for the mailman…or woman, in my case…to bring me a little letter from my girls.
The step son and my youngest son…they are in day camp…all day…all summer. It’s a shame…NOT! But, they are both having a wonderful time. And the little guy comes home so exhausted that, I barely have to chase him around the neighborhood while he is streaking…he’s just too tired for that!!
I have to figure out what to do with my oldest son, Mr. Negativity. Does anyone want to host him for the summer? No? Just thought I’d ask!! I guess it’s video games and computer for him…in the basement…where I don’t have to hear it or see it!!
XOXO
Hey Melissa…
thanks for visiting my blog. Hope you come back more often.
And as for the oldest son…..let him play the video games. I’m all about t.v. being a great babysitter…..LOL!
Sounds like your summer is as busy as mine.
sometimes i think “boring” is a gift to reward us for the times we are pulling out our hair.
wow. pretty profound for 11:30 at night!!!
hi melissa —
hi sweetie, glad you sound good and positive. savor more, do less 🙂
happy friday, kathleen xo
Sounds like summer is cutting you some slack…the older boy? If he was older I’d suggest a job. Hope you enjoy your downtime.
I like the I barely have to chase him around the neighborhood while he’s streaking, he’s too exhausted for that. You are funny. Have a good weekend.
Ya gotta love summer! 😉
Hey, send him here. We’ll teach him how to rock climb. You really have to get out of your own head to be able to do that.
Uneventful is good! I’m so jealous!! Hope you enjoy the next 3-1/2 weeks.
Wo hoo, sum chilling time….. Mine actually went swimmin for
a couple of hours….w/gfriends. Thank goodness there are
gfriends. We actually went through her clothes – we donated
a lot, just won’t wear the older stuff…… (too little kidish+ etc.)
OMG major $ for back to school clothes this year……..!

So, you are really not liking this summer thing at all, are you? 🙂 Way to go getting rid of everybody. And, congrats on reconnecting with the hubby. That’s VERY important.
Basements are our friends….
Have a great weekend!!
I am glad to hear that summer vacation is going well so far….I love the “walks with your husband” at night..that is very sweet. I would give your son plenty of chores to do…a little bit of work is good for these kids!!
